Kathy grew up in Toronto, Ontario and began her career by graduating from the Art Fundamentals program at Sheridan College, and then from the Classical Animation program at the Oakville Campus. She has been working in the animation industry in Ottawa since 1981, and has worked on many popular Saturday morning cartoons such as "The Care Bears", "The Raccoons", "For Better or For Worse", Disney's "The Doug Show", "P.B. and J. Otter", "Stanley" and many more.
It was when Kathy began volunteering with the children at Hawthorne Public School that the real magic began. She has sketched more than 700 portraits of students, given art lessons, and co-coordinated the set design and painting of elaborate sets for seven of their operettas. Kathy is now blending her artistic knowledge and drawing skills with colour theory to produce sensitive paintings of children, flowers, landscapes, and animals. Her paintings reflect the great joy she feels from the beauty she sees in the simple pleasures of life.
